For All things Kawaii & Magical Girl
I like Sailor Moon and yes I love these magical girl spins into a whole new outfit. That's powerful transformation, and that's freaking magical, and I love that. I just don't trust how we perceive magical girls despite how complex their stories can be. There's a performative nature to what it means to be a magical girl that reminds me that there is more to life than being cute. There is substance, there is a struggle, there is trial, power, and ambition.
So let me tell you about Meowsamagicalworld. This shop on Etsy is producing quality skirts by hand. Color me pink impressed. When I tried on the skirt and attached the strap pieces, I was starstruck by how soft and well it fits. While most magical girls wear bright colors, I like to think pairing this skirt with a classy black, and white accent made the skirt pop out more. Especially with my black petticoat to spruce up its magic.
“One of the more beautiful things in life about this is Coord is it was put together with the help of my sisters and my mom! My mom lent me her seafoam green vans. My sister pulled this fairy long weave into my space buns clipped with my favorite giant buttons from Un-Re Designs. My biggest grievance is how heavy all these hair adornments were, and how quickly this wig would teeter.”
I have admired many stories of witches and magical girls over the years while holding love for black cats in my heart. What I really love about this outfit is the feeling I had wearing it. At my core, I am a storyteller. I felt that in today’s look of well-matched pieces assembled flawlessly that I was more.
Have you ever wanted to be kawaii and bad, but can’t replicate Instagram baddie into kawaii looks. Well, welcome to the new club “Kawaii brat” because that’s me. I cannot be a baddie for the life of me, all my attempts make me look like a magical brat.
When I woke up Saturday morning, I instantly knew what inner character I wanted to present and express. I adore my outfit for Sakura Matsuri because it served looks not once but twice. Today’s outfit was featured on Saturday for DC Web Fest and Sakura Matsuri.
Sakura Weekend with DC Kawaii Style: I’m inspired by seeing people’s entire being light up at the possibility that they can find their true selves in the form of Kawaii. It’s a powerful effect on my soul, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

“What I can say about working with Marioso on this collab is this, do not underestimate his skill or his talents. Don’t let age stop you from respecting his professionalism, and don’t let his pictures be without his white gloves. He is his art, and he represents it well.” Artist Interview
I’m excited to present artist interview and story with Jazmine. The path that leads Jazmine to where she is now is woven together through experiences that go beyond her social media presence.
Trust that each experience of each passage will change as you read and reread. Gazing into the minds of young artists inspired by their Mentor Jan Kather, a professor of multimedia art at Elmira College, is an experience worth having
For All Things Mentality, Mental Health, and Navigating Life
Losing friends is just a part of the process. At least that’s what I’m told. There comes a time when boundaries are established that no longer can accept tolerance. The path you take requires leveled maturity, and in other cases, you just grow apart. In truth, when it comes to navigating life maintaining strong friendships has proven to be a challenge in my later adult years.
Exhaustion is dangerous. One of the symptoms of being another overworked debt-ridden millennial. I’ve found that as time moves on the exhaustion exhibits in different ways and starts to reach other corners of my world. Here are some ways that I’ve noted happen when I’m exhausted beyond self-care Band-Aids.
At first, I didn’t notice how frequent this occurrence is. This might be because I view my style as an extension of my inner selves. When I get home from work, my instincts have me drop my outfit off my body
“There is so much to me that is raw and bordering unhinged. Parts of me are ice and others fire. In some mirrors I see a knight, in others, I see someone who clings to the floor as a damsel in distress. The duality, and fractured state equal me.”
In the space of this situation I went through a series of emotions. From Disgust, to Disappoint, to Despair. The triple D’s of work grief. I could not believe that I had such a negative rainbow of feelings all at once but all I responded was “Okay” with a smile.
I’ll preface this by saying not everyone with allergies is going to have the same experience as mine. Not everyone with dietary issues is officially diagnosed by a medical professional. Allergies can occur anywhere in your lifetime and can be acquired or lost with age. I trust that you treat my words with a little openness, and understand that I am speaking from my personal experiences and struggles.
There was a time I would get irritated at the idea people thought I was fake, or even questioned my authenticity.
The narrative of doubt is so loud in my head, I question everything. If I gave it all up, would I even be me?
I’ve come to understand in my shifting role as administrative support, that often the tasks given are given towards me with no regard to the other streams of paperwork that waterfall me. This is the bukkake of administration.
Black writers set the literary lens, and I am proud to count myself among them.

I never expected to be acknowledged for my efforts in/for Jadedisland. When the words "Jadedisland" were announced my heart just fluttered. It was me, it was my name, my work called. I was so startled that I sat there in disbelief. Until I was urged to go up and accept the Gold award for digital expression.
Boston, a transient city, filled with an extreme amount of progressive moments and statements, art, and churches every 5 steps. Where do I begin on telling you my experience in Boston as I visited my favorite Sagittarius and his new city? This trip was riddled in gin, art, and African American Heritage. I had a chance to do something big in February, and I’m glad I went. First, let me tell you about the Demon on Greyhound.
The fantastic thing about participating in the fashion show is I got to learn about so many new J-fashion brands and experience the magical comfort of Sweet Bitz in person.
Time to adventure with Jadedisland day one at Katsucon! What nerdy and fashionable experiences were had! “I was nervous like shit! I was like do I ask the question burning in my mind about black people being represented as living Dolls or is that too aggressive as a question.”
My Reflections from the March for Black Women: “I encourage you to also reflect on how you handle Black Femmes who are emoting and processing trauma in your life, do you dismiss them or do you listen? “
